Significantly reducing development lead time
with the use of digital data that spans across processes
In order to achieve shortened production lead time and reduced total cost, Hiraoka Body fully utilizes digital technology for efficient prototyping. With 3D-CAD, we examine nearly 40 categories in advance, including productivity (formability, weldability, etc.), as well as cost, strength, and quality, before advancing to the actual primary prototyping.
Utilizing digital data
Hiraoka Body conducts simulations using 3D data as a preliminary stage to prototyping. For plastic forming parts, we conduct analysis with molding simulations and consider the shape and the yield of the material. For parts that require strength checks, we compute panel thickness and stress distribution incurred when pressing with strength computation software. This data is matched against actual measurement values of prototypes to support high precision quality checks, while also connecting to the accumulation of proprietary analysis know-how by improving the precision of simulation data.
Prototyping
Once the prototype shape is determined by 3D analysis, we take the 3D data used there to produce metal molds, jigs, and measurement tools for prototyping. Because we check whether the process designed in the simulation stage holds, parts that are difficult with digital data and finish checking by human eyes and hands are central to the prototyping stage. Even if a problem arises at this stage, Hiraoka Body has accumulated problems that arose in the past and their solutions as development know-how, so we are capable of speedy problem solving.
